Rest in Peace John Paul II. And may the Catholic church be led to choose another Pope who has the same strong convictions.

I asked my dad about that not too long ago. "Does time continue to speed up?" He answer was yes. I hate it when he's right. LOL

It was no coincidence that a few years after these incredible people rose to power, communism was dead.

#####

Agreed. I also see no coincidence in the fact that the death of Theresa Schiavo will forever be linked with his, or that he died on a First Saturday, and the eve of the Feast of Divine Mercy.

I haven't seen this quoted yet on any of the threads, maybe I'm wrong, but it's good to repeat it.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Matthew 5: 5

When I went to the Basilica of Our of Guadalupe several years ago, there was a bust of John Paul II in the courtyard commemorating his pilgrimage there a few years earlier. I'll bet you probably can't get near that bust tonight for all the flowers in front of it.

Have you heard it sung???

I've searched high and low for the vocal version of this hymn and this site is the close that I could find

I can't copy the direct link though .. so you will have to go to this site

http://christ-lutheran.org/music/

Scroll down to where it says ..

56 "Be Not Afraid" By Bob Dufford

And click to hear them singing this song

Someone asked me tonight if the Pope died. I told him that the Pope passed away at 9:37pm in Rome. He said to me, "Oh, so he died on Divine Mercy Sunday?"

Just remember that the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth live.
