Thank you for posting that picture. I had never seen it before. It put a smile on my face at this sad time.

I cannot forget his visit to Cuba.

For the first time the people were allowed to celebrate open air masses with the Pope.

For the first time Christmas was a national holiday.

It was something amazing to see that this Pope was able to bring that blessing to those poor benighted people.

Not sure why but that visit touched me so much.

I can't shake this feeling of profound emptiness,
or loneliness... a huge void in the world. Still
tearing? I am.

I was there too. The one thing that I remember the most about that day was that it was a cold, windy day. Then as the Pope's helicopter came in to land at the Living History Farms, the clouds opened up, the sun came out and warmed up. God's light was shown upon all who were there that day.

Short wave reconfirms that he died after the Feast of the Divine Mercy had already begun but it was still the First Saturday of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. That could not be more perfect for a Pontiff who did so much to promote St. Faustina's devotion to the Divine Mercy and who had as his motto "Totus Tuus".

He's left us to complete his journey.

It will be hard to fill his shoes .. but yes, we all will complete his journey

Thank you for that picture. The tears flow from this Protestant's heart of sorrow at losing this man of God at this time in the world. It will never be the same with him gone.

His papacy itself was miraculous. More miracles are certain to occur due to his intercession on our behalf.
