"Quiet, bigot. No one wants to hear your crap today."
Oh, bite me. The Pope was a GREAT man who deserves all accolades. I just don't hold myself to any superstitious prophecies, especially those concerning "End Times", as every single solitary one of them have been dead-wrong to date.
Besides, if they are true, what's the point of going forward with any hope? If it's prophecized and 'meant to be', why bother living anymore? It's a stupid concept that people need to get over and start trying to change things for the better.
It should not be interpreted as the end of the human race. Revelations tells us that there will be a 1000 year reign of Christ following the Great Tribulation and Jesus's return. So while the Tribulation is a time of judgement on the earth, it's not the final judgement.
I have seen lists with a lot more detail, but I can't find one on the internet. Most of the internet articles just focus on the last 10 popes in interest of time and space. One of the reasons the earlier popes are not discussed in detail, is that the prophecy was lost for several hundred years and when found it so accurately predicted the first 70 or so popes that there is some doubt to it's authenticy.
However, it gained a lot of credibility with the pope that had the title half moon who only served 30 days from one half moon to the next. That also quited many of the claims which questioned whether the prophecy included ALL popes or just the important ones.
Here's a couple more links that discuss the prophecy.
My prediction for the papacy: Jose da Cruz Policarpo
That's interesting -- so JP II was born and buried under solar eclipses.
Past speculation had it that Olive might be a reference to Jewish heritage and the Benedictine Order which also does something like have an olive branch as a symbol, had claimed this pope would come from their order.
Already he has claimed the name "Benedict" which someone said means "of the olive". But I'm wondering if there are stronger links? Is he of Jewish heritage? Or of the Benedictine Order?
To all that read this;
Perhpas the prophecy should be taken with the utmost sincerety. So far St. Malachy's Prophecy has been uncanny in it's accuracy.
Of course we can all dismiss this as a ploy from the Catholic Church (along with all other propechies, i.e. - The Three Days Of Darkness) to scare people into God fearing people...which may turn down some of the chaos in this world...who knows.
However, let's move beyond relegion for a moment. The Aztecs and the Mayans were experts at math and their calendars...though created centuries ago...were accurate to a "t" when predicting solar eclipses - solar eclipses in our present day.
What's the significance here, their calendars stopped at 2013 and 2025, Aztec and Mayan. It was if they were unable to record anything past these years, like they saw nothing.
Unless everything is a coincidence, the Aztecs and Mayans were in correct, the record of God's word is legend/folklore, all prophecies from all prophets throughout time are fallacies, and relegion is a waste of time...I do believe we are nearing the end.
Who knows, perhaps this Pope took that name to spook everyone into believing St. Malachy's Prophecy. Fear of death, the end and satan drives those to God. What better way to gain parishiners and followers.
Just wait and see...the antichrist in many past prophecies (bible and not) has been told to bring about such a peice so wonderful that all will follow and adore him. The new Pope wishes to unite all Christians in one of his latest statements. Perhaps a wish of good will, but never the less, there are too many coincidences happening at the same time.
Read the "Three Days Of Darkness" and take note of the impending signs...do they not speak of today's world...almost exactly.
Say your prayers ladies and gentlemen, I believe the theif in the night is about to make his move.
I believe we will all be around for a very very long time.
The link below - apparently back to the same source - includes the connection to Benedict or Benedictines.
Don't know why the link for this thread omitted it.

I read somewhere that the Mayan calendar was just a logical stopping point. It's like going into a store and buying a 1 year calendar and assuming that the world ends on Dec 31. Or buying a 10 year calendar and assuming the same thing only 10 years from now on Dec 31.
I'm not familiar with the "Three days of darkness" you are talking about. Do you have a link?
2 Peter 3 First, I want to remind you that in the last days there will be scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing they desire.
4 This will be their argument: Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is he? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created.
5 They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth up from the water and surrounded it with water.
6 Then he used the water to destroy the world with a mighty flood.
7 And God has also commanded that the heavens and the earth will be consumed by fire on the day of judgment, when ungodly people will perish.
8 But you must not forget, dear friends, that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
9 The Lord isnt really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and everything in them will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be exposed to judgment.£
11 Since everything around us is going to melt away, what holy, godly lives you should be living!
12 You should look forward to that day and hurry it alongthe day when God will set the heavens on fire and the elements will melt away in the flames.
13 But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world where everyone is right with God.
14 And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to live a pure and blameless life. And be at peace with God.
15 And remember, the Lord is waiting so that people have time to be saved. This is just as our beloved brother Paul wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him
16 speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters around to mean something quite different from what he meant, just as they do the other parts of Scriptureand the result is disaster for them.
266 | John Paul II (1978-2005) | 110 | De labore Solis (of the eclipse of the sun, or from the labour of the sun) Hist.: Karol Wojtyla was born on May 18, 1920 during a solar eclipse. He also comes from behind the former Iron Curtain (the East, where the Sun rises). He might also be seen to be the fruit of the intercession of the Woman Clothed with the Sun labouring in Revelation 12 (because of his devotion to the Virgin Mary). His Funeral occurred on 8 April, 2005 when there was a solar eclipse visible in the Americas. |
267 | Benedict XVI (2005-) | 111 | Gloria olivæ The Benedictine order traditionally said this Pope would come from their order, since a branch of the Benedictine order is called the Olivetans. St Benedict is said to have prophesied that before the end of the world, a member of his order would be Pope and would triumphantly lead the Church in its fight against evil. While the Holy Father chose the name "Benedict", this does not seem enough to fulfil the prophecy. Nor is it clear how Benedict XVI (a Bavarian) is "Glory of the Olives". Since he is said to have remarked in the Conclave after saying he would take the name Benedict that it was partly to honour Benedict XV, a pope of peace and reconciliation, perhaps Benedict XVI will be a peacemaker in the Church or in the World, and thus carry the olive branch. |
In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, & Judex tremêdus judicabit populum suum. Finis. (In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End.) |
Old thread, I know, but with the new book coming out, Google brought me here...
