All the Internet has done is shift the costs around, dramatically.

That's not all its done. It's made it extremely easy to violate the rights of copyright holders, namely songwriters and publishers. It's theft, and sooner or later, in a sane world, that will become evident. Just another sign that loose morality and a lack of basic ethics and decency rule the day. Not surprising in a world where adult males play video games.

I agree with you, it seems it is stealing. I thinks some justify it in their minds by transposing the music to zeros and ones.

The thing I have a problem getting my mind around is that it's illegal to download it but it's (AFAIK) perfectly okay to record all the content from an hour long, no commercial, full album radio show or tape something off of TV.

I guess it is easier to get it off the Internet; I wouldn't have to check the TV listings or the radio full album schedule, etc. but it seems to be me that they are still basically the same, just a different delivery medium.
