Get this through your head - Terri was not disabled - she was in a PVS - NOT THE SAME THING. The law says that people in a PVS are terminal patients and as such can have life support removed per their wishes of those of their loved ones. Terri was NOT retarded, she was NOT in a coma, she was NOT disabled she was in a PVS.

Ah yes, bow down to the human letter which transcends those dusty old fashioned Commandments.

Stop the lies. She was not in a PVS. She was severely disabled. Limited cognitive ability. She was a burden to her cheating husband and he wanted to get rid of her. It's an old story.

The 'doctor' upon whose diagnosis Greer based his decisions regarding Terri said on CNN that Terri's EEG was flat. I don't think he is qualified to make a diagnosis on Terri of PVS if he believes her EEG was flat. Know why, by any chance? ... And we won't even have to cite the more than thirty qualified Neurologists who do not concur with the PVS diagnosis, nor will we have to look at Terri shown swallowing on her own and following commands. We won't even have to consider the sworn affidavits from Nurses who treated Terri and testify that she was not in PVS.

The right to life is God-given and inalienable. As Thomas Jefferson said, this fact is self-evident.

That is the foundational principle of America.

Sad to see FReepers working with the loony Left to try and destroy the foundation.

Destro, I am ashamed to see one of my fellow Orthodox siding with the death merchants.

The other poster (I forget his name) was right to rebuke you for sophistry.

Your defense of Greer's order is based on two claims

1. Terri was in a PVS.
2. Florida law contains a definition of PVS which includes inability to swallow.

The problem is, that Terri could swallow as evidenced by the fact that she did not need to have her saliva aspirated.

If indeed Florida law contains such a definition of PVS, then Judge Greer's order provably violated Florida law, and your argument simply localizes its illegality in the misapplication of the Florida legal definition of PVS to Terri.

And by what stretch of moral or legal sensibilities can any Christian argue for a court order which forbids a mother from giving her dying daughter a sip of water. "In as much as ye did it not to the least of these. . ."

Fear the Righteous Judge on the throne of glory more then the unrighteous ones we have in this country, and get your moral sensibilities straightened out.
