WASHINGTON -- Say what you will about Bashar Assad, dictator of Syria and perhaps the dimmest eye doctor ever produced by British medical schools, but subtle he is not. Since the huge street demonstrations against his occupation of Lebanon, three terror bombings have occurred there, all in heavily Christian, anti-Syrian neighborhoods. Only slightly less subtle was the nearly half-million-man Beirut rally demanding Syria's continued occupation staged by Syria's Lebanese client, Hezbollah, followed by the ``spontaneous'' demonstration Assad orchestrated for himself in Damascus.

we are at the dawn of an Arab Spring -- the first bloom of democracy in Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine and throughout the greater Middle East --

I think the Media needs to hire people that passed Government 101. A vote does not democracy make. Lil Kim in North Korea and Saddam Hussein both got elected to their offices every time by 90% voting margins. Yet they are/were two of the most repressive dictatorships in modern history. Palestine is nothing but a giant Gang war, and it too is called "freedom" by these leftist pukes pretending to be Journalists.

Democracy is when the PEOPLE are REPRESENTED, not the Power Mongers. The people in Palestine are hung from the power poles freely, and chained to car bumpers to be dragged through town till dead for "collaboration". It is not the spring of democracy, it is the full summer of slaughter in there. Putting a Lilly in a corpse's hand does not make him a table decoration, nor make him smell any better.
