HANOI JANE COMES CLEAN
The former Mrs. Ted Turner, Jane Fonda, has come out with a new book. She is making the rounds doing publicity...and she has given an interview to '60 Minutes' that will air this Sunday. In it, she admits (sort of) that she was wrong to go to North Vietnam and visit an anti-aircraft gun site used to shoot down U.S. pilots. Well isn't that nice....but she's a bit late, don't you think?
Fonda says that her trip to the gun site some 33 years ago was a "betrayal" of the U.S. military, its soldiers and "the country that gave me privilege." She calls the picture of her sitting on the enemy gun barrel the largest lapse of judgment she can imagine. Really. So what about the whole decision to visit North Vietnam in the first place? She won't apologize for that. No, Hanoi Jane will only apologize for posing for pictures with enemy weaponry. She won't apologize for being photographed with American POWs, nor will she apologize for going on Radio Hanoi and being a propaganda mouthpiece for the Viet Cong.
Jane Fonda gave aid and comfort to the enemy of the United States during a time of war. We used to call that treason, and there are people sitting in prison for it. Somehow, Jane Fonda got away with it...and now she wants us all to relieve her of her guilty conscience.
Hanoi Jane couldn't come clean in an acid bath. But if she wanted to try it, I wouldn't interfere with her right to privacy.

Fonda is a rather dim bulb. I once heard her in 1970 at my college. It was embarrassing. I don't care much about her. She bores me.
She can never come clean. You can never take back the lives she cost over there. She has lived in the lap of luxury all these years.
She certainly has not deserved it.
Why did the Viet Kong do their job and do her in at the time she was sitting in this picture???

I watched her interview last night, as painful as it was to watch CBS, and I didn't detect a bit of remorse. In fact, she defended her actions saying that by broadcasting to the pilots to stop the bombing, she wasn't actually trying to get them to defy orders...merely getting them to think about their actions. WTF?!?!?!
She said she was actually engaged trying to "speak to Nixon for eight years..." to end the bombing.
Let me see if I have this straight: we left Viet-Nam in 1973; Nixon took office in 1969. NOPE! I don't see eight years there.
What this traitor bitch actually meant was that she and her Commie-sympathizing idealogues couldn't come to grips with the fact that Viet-Nam was Kennedy and Johnson's war, and they needed a Republican scapegoat to hang it all on.
Say what you mean, bitch -- and get your damned facts straight while you're at it!
