HANOI JANE COMES CLEAN
The former Mrs. Ted Turner, Jane Fonda, has come out with a new book. She is making the rounds doing publicity...and she has given an interview to '60 Minutes' that will air this Sunday. In it, she admits (sort of) that she was wrong to go to North Vietnam and visit an anti-aircraft gun site used to shoot down U.S. pilots. Well isn't that nice....but she's a bit late, don't you think?
Fonda says that her trip to the gun site some 33 years ago was a "betrayal" of the U.S. military, its soldiers and "the country that gave me privilege." She calls the picture of her sitting on the enemy gun barrel the largest lapse of judgment she can imagine. Really. So what about the whole decision to visit North Vietnam in the first place? She won't apologize for that. No, Hanoi Jane will only apologize for posing for pictures with enemy weaponry. She won't apologize for being photographed with American POWs, nor will she apologize for going on Radio Hanoi and being a propaganda mouthpiece for the Viet Cong.
Jane Fonda gave aid and comfort to the enemy of the United States during a time of war. We used to call that treason, and there are people sitting in prison for it. Somehow, Jane Fonda got away with it...and now she wants us all to relieve her of her guilty conscience.
Nothing can change what she did. NOTHING. Let her take her guilt to the grave, where she can mingle with the brave guys of Viet Nam who are already there.
anything to stay in the limelight and get some face time
she still sux
imo
Her husband made her participate in group sex..She got screwed, thus she did it to the countrey..
Going to a nation that's at war with your homeland and pronouncing your support for commie butchers is teason and a crime against humanity.
I hope Hanoi Janie burns in hell.
It's good that she realizes the error of her ways. However, Thag will still not see any of her movies, buy any product she recommends, or have anything else to do with her. Thag remains skeptical.
I guess going to church didn't help.
Hellhounds on my trail.....hellhounds on my trail...
I don't think she feels guilty. I think she feels she made a public relations mistake. Otherwise she would repent her other bad behavior in Vietnam.
She just doesn't like being called Hanoi Jane.
Too bad, Hanoi Jane.
It is not enough for Hanoi Jane to say, finally, that she's "sorry". Hanoi Jane and all the other traitors contributed to the deaths of countliess Americans by giving aide and comfort to the enemy. If she reall means to say she's sorry, she has to start making amends.
Hey, Hanoi Jane, KISS MY BUTT!!!!.
guilty? HER? not on your life! she's trying to sell a book and this is one way of generating publicity.
did anyone but me read her comments about her divorce from ted turner? seems she beleives that feminism is incompatible with marriage.
I read her whole mea culpa on the 3 way sex - why do we need to know this? Gross!
Hanoi Jane didn't say she was sorry:
"She won't apologize for that. No, Hanoi Jane will only apologize for posing for pictures with enemy weaponry. She won't apologize for being photographed with American POWs, nor will she apologize for going on Radio Hanoi and being a propaganda mouthpiece for the Viet Cong."
Wasn't there some retired military person circulating via the net a story that Hanoi Jane was passed a written message from a POW? She turned the message over to the North Vietnamese captors who beat the POW senseless. I remember receiving that email at least twice.
I believe she has a movie coming out soon, co-starring with J-Lo.
This could be the beginning of a wave of publicity rounds to get people's attention focused on her and the new movie. A partial apology may be her way of trying to get people to forgive her, somewhat, and gain a wider audience for the movie.
I'm not buying into her apology or any of her movies.
Her settlement from Ted was in AOL stock..she's hurting..
She was having threesomes with her husband.... apparently not.
