The book I am thinking of, and cannot locate conveniently, is "The Final Conclave." It is so timely now, as it was in 1978. It contains a description of the death of Peter that is so moving (to me) that it is sublime. It also describes the procedures when a Pope dies. I believe all people, especially Roman Catholics, should read this book for a view of political intrigue that is happening now.
Thank you for that recommendation. I have checked it out on the Los Angeles Publ.ic Library online (lapl.org for Angelinos). I look forward to reading it in the coming days. :)
