The confirmation of death is interesting to me. The Pope's forehead is tapped (or hit harder, when the process began...to make sure?) with a silver hammer and the Camerlengo asks, "Pope [whoever], are you well and truly dead?" This happens 3 times. I believe the practice began when there were the false Popes, etc.
