I think he went to nursing school so he could get a well-paying job, and he had Terri to talk about with his classmates and instructors. He won ther malpractice lawsuit, and attending nursing school would have been an acceptable use of those funds as long as he was doing it for Terri's sake. He asked his lawyer if he could use the money to pay for nursing school so he could nurse his disabled wife, the lawyer said sure why not, and he got to access Terri's funds for the time he went to nursing school. It's almost like getting a scholarship. Why he chose to be a nurse is beyond me, but his admission would be practically guaranteed if he is male and has a reasonable GPA.

A "liberal" friend of mine told me last night that her opinion had changed when it took so long for Terri to die. It suddenly occurred to her that there was a will to live there.LOL! Just like a Salem witch trial, where they hold the witch under water, and if she survives she's a witch, if she drowns she's not..... Darn, she drowned, maybe she's not a witch. Oooops!

Let's suppose that Granny used to live with us.
Let's suppose that a month ago elderly Granny said at the dinner table that 'she was useless anymore and just wanted to die'.
Let's suppose that two weeks ago, I honored Granny's wishes and began to deny her both food and water.
Let's suppose that she finally died at 9:03 on 3/31/2005, just as Terri Schiavo died.
Suppose that I then called the medical examiner to come pick up Granny's dead body.
Now, you tell me where I would be right now?????
Would I be charged with murder?????

I think it's definitely obfuscation when you report on a poll and report what certain groups replied without even mentioning the overall numbers. It's also selective reporting of the type that the NY Times practices.
I realize many aren't as concerned about the journalistic standards of the Times as fact that they are on the wrong side, but as far as I'm concerned selectively reporting only conservative things is no better than selectively reporting only liberal things.

My point is not that the 29% is insignificant. It's very significant!
But NewsMax should have reported all the poll results instead of just cherry-picking the numbers that look good for the Schindler side.

Personally, I believe that Michael Shiavo's shameful behavior both before and after his wife's murder by Judge Greer will do more to swing public opinion toward the pro life side than any other factor.
It is now coming out that he blocked the request that her parents be at her bedside when she died, that he has forbidden them from attending her funeral, that he will cremate her remains despite her parents wishes and he will not tell them where she will be buried. Even the parents of mass murderers are not treated with this degree of cruel and vicious spite.
I predict major changes in the laws governing people such as Terri will be enacted to prevent a recurrence - perhaps this will be the only good that will come from this whole sorry exercise in judicial arrogance and spousal abuse.

It depends on who is doing the reporting. Fox News considers itself unbiased. I am sure Newsmax is under no illusions and the article did not deceive at all. It's not deception to select numbers that prove the point you are trying to make. We are not idiots - we know that the populace as a whole did not think it was murder.

I wonder if the pro-Terri news trend will increase over the next few weeks... say every time Felos gives a press conference? You can't listen to this snake and not get a sickening feeling about what he did to Terri.
To: eeriegeno
Yes, because you didn't get Judge Greer's permission to starve Granny.
