You think a policy theory somehow trumps a young, innocent woman's life?

Policy theory? How about the Constitution this country is based on? The state was supposed to give the case due process, and it did. It did even according to the federal government after Congress essentially told Florida "Sorry kid, you can't take care of yourself so we're stepping in."

Are we a nation of laws and separate sovereign states or are we not? You support breaking that structure according to an issue you feel strongly about. That's what the liberals have been doing for years, and we have been criticizing them for it for years.

This issue has caused the most hyporisy I've ever seen on FR.

Its not hypocrisy, its ignorance. They are acting on princple, I respect that, but they are paving the road with good intentions.

What a foolish statment. It is the US CONSTITUTION that requires due process. IT IS A FEDERAL ISSUE. Terri's life was suppose to be protected by the FEDERAL CONSTIUTION. That you and your friends in the pr-death movement were able to see that she wasn't given a review of her due process is no reason to be angry. I would think your side would be elated.

Thank you for your comments. Too many people here have the "ends justify the means" mentality that has made the democrats what they are. If we continue in that direction, then we would be no differnt than them. People here need to realize that.We are a nation of laws. The laws permitted what happened to Terri. The laws need to be modified, under the provisions of the state and/or federal constitutions. Under Florida law, essentially the spouse, whether a saint or demon, speaks for someone in Terri's condition. That would have to be ammended, changed or deleted from the law for there to be any different outcome.

Complete ignorance of the real facts at hand ... grab a clue: The Federal Government already was involved prior to the Congressional law being passed. Federal courts were getting appeals (and turning them down) prior.

Quick - Does the Federal Government have the right to review state laws that force sterilization of retarded people?

You are absolutely right.

When you find yourself on the same side as known liars and media whores such as Jesse Jackson and Ralph Nader, you need to check you premises!

Tossing the Constitution and giving the government over to the Democrats would be a sad legacy.

What would Nathan Hale say?
