It's in the trial transcripts as noted by the GAL Wolfson.
"Throughout this painful and difficult trial, the family acknowledged that Theresa was in a diagnosed persistent vegetative state."

That quote is thoroughly loaded - it isn't a direct quote of a family member saying, "Terri is PVS". It's secondhand. Furthermore, it could be that they are mere acknowledging some doctors diagnosed her as PVS.
In short, that's loaded with sophistry, dishonesty and mendacity.
In addition, not all doctors agree with the diagnosis. And as such if the family believed the PVS diagnosis, they certainly had legitimate cause to change their minds.
Finally, there is absolutely no justification whatsoever for starving to death the disabled. And nothing you say will ever make it right.
