Statement of Pontius Pilate, AD 30--
After an extraordinarily difficult and tragic journey, Jesus of Nazareth is at rest. Columba and I offer our condolences to his mother, and to all those who offered their prayers and support to his family over these past weeks, months and years.
Many across our state and around the world are deeply grieved by the way Jesus died. I feel that grief very sharply as well. I remain convinced, however, that Jesus' death is a window through which we can see the many issues left unresolved in our families and in our society. For that, we can be thankful for all that the life of Jesus of Nazareth has taught us.
I still firmly believe that human life is a gift and a mystery, and that its mystery is most evident at its beginning and ending. May all of us whose hearts were moved during the life of Jesus of Nazareth grow in wisdom at its ending.
Ouch! That bites.
Terri wasn't Jesus,Jeb isn't Pilate, and writing such garbage helps nobody!
Well written statement, CF. Pilate couldn't have done better.
May George & Jeb's careers end as honorably....
...and may it be a thousand years before a Bush ever wins another leadership position.
Well put!

Your foolish attempt to compare Jeb and Pilate is absurd. The thing that makes satire funny is that it contains truth. Pilate had unlimited power to free Jesus but would not and did not care a bit about him. Jeb did not have unlimited power to free Terri and obviously did care about her. You're hopelessly reaching at an inaccurate comparison in an attempt to play on some sort of emotional string. You failed.
