In most jurisdictions, misdeamors are punishable by a term of up to one year and fines that can range to considerable sums.

Right...big deal? That's just the limits of the punishment. As I said, I've never heard of anyone getting sentenced that harshly for a misdemeanor.

And from what has been reported today, neither will Sandy Burgler...$10,000 fine, no jail and a "loss" of his security clearence for three years. Whoopie!
