This reporter is a moron. Doesn't he know Jeb is losing to JC Watts in the March Madness voting of GOP 2008 Presidential hopefuls? ;-)

Jeb Bush will suffer for this, I think, but I think he'll suffer unfairly.

He and President Bush might have been better served to try and educate the public on this issue, rather than precipitate action that they had to know would lead nowhere.

I do think there was a bit of pandering involved on the congressional side of things. I don't really think Jeb was pandering, he just found himself in a set of circumstances that seemed to demand he do something, and his heart probably was never in it because he saw the situation as untenable.

Once people understand that Jeb Bush himself signed into law the statute that served as the legal basis for Schiavo's starvation, I'd say his chances of being anything more than governor of Florida will vanish.

Some Googling reveals that political science professor Darryl Paulson is a registered Republican. This was not what I expected, based on his comments.

People are going to forget about this at about the same rate that they have forgotten about Jane Fonda's "Hanoi Jane" speeches, about Ted Kennedy's ride with Mary Jo Kopechne, and about Robert Byrd's membership in the Klan. Jeb Bush tried, but he failed to rise to the occasion. His mediocrity as a leader is now written in stone.

A couple of weeks ago, it occurred to me that if Terri had some serious therapy, she might regain enough speech to smile and say "Thank you" to those who had helped her. Would have made a great "Jeb in '08" campaign ad. No more.

The Bushes won't feel any impact from me.
I realize some militants on this board wanted George and Jeb to send in the 101st Airborne. But I personally thank the Bushes for paying attention to the situation and for working to help resolve it.
And in the meantime please, stop writing off Jeb Bush. If he decided to run, he's the best chance we've got to beat Hiliary. This is politics, you don't always get what you want. But like I told my sister, when you don't vote, it IS a vote for gay marriage and abortion. Please don't abandon the Republican Party.
Let's work together to change the law...
