Ping
Well they are supposed to be on our side now.
Looks like a big 'ol F-15 with some kind of bulbous aft thingy.
The bulbous aft thingy is a rear-facing radar.
LOL, thanks.
A production rate of 2.5 airframes a year?
Hell, they'd probably lose more than that due to accidents...
Russian armaments industry is hurting, this is good news for them.
Which is just an extension of the SU-27, which is an extension of the ripped off F-15 design. These craft are supposed to have amazing radar systems though.
check this out.
That's a laugh and a half! It may make you feel better to believe such a fairy tale, but it isn't so.

Ok. Chew on this:
"In 1969, the United States Air Force (USAF) selected the McDonnell Douglas F-15 as the winner of the service's "Fighter Experimental (FX)" program. Faced with a formidable new American threat, the Soviet government immediately issued a request for a new fighter of their own to match the F-15, under the designation "Perspektivnyi Frontovi Istrebitel (PFI / Prospective Frontal Fighter)". The program was also apparently referred to as the "anti-F-15"."
"To an extent, however, the "copycat" accusation wasn't based completely on snobbery, since the USSR, particularly in Stalin's day, pragmatically did not hesitate to borrow, copy, or steal useful foreign technologies. In fact, the MiG and Sukhoi OKBs occasionally accused each other of copying as well."
Article excerpt:
In 1999, the USAF completed a highly successful field service evaluation of the F110-GE-129 powering the F-15E, during which time the engine surpassed 1,700 engine flights hours on the aircraft. In fact, the USAF extended the program beyond the 1,000 hours originally envisioned due to the engine's remarkable performance and the high mission readiness rate of the aircraft/engine combination.
F-15's have real combat time history.
Russian,India,China..[Whatever...]
How will their birds really hold up under duration tasking.
Lots of glowing reports on Saturn NPO engines.
Internet publications are one thing.....proof in the field under time is the true margin.
Does Saturn NPO have a UPS airfreight shipping contract?
At least India has a call centre : )
:0) About the same rate as the Raptor. Heck are we still scheduled to buy any? They keep cutting the quota down.
Ask the Indians, they used Russian equipment to beat Pakistan in 3 wars.
