A lot of us with disabled children are starting to ask ourselves if we will be in this situtation ourselves. I believe a genie may have been loosed on us.
I'm nervous as hell.
I know exactly what that kind of fear is like. I have disabled children as well.
I want the ones who defended Terri's murder, as "letting her go" or other nonsense, to tell me, what mental institutions do we start with first?.....
what nursing homes?..
but, I am tired of fighting....
Lord, send us the grace we need to accept this terrible fate....
prayers to Terri's family.....
You, we, all of us need to raise our voices loud and clear to make sure our laws preserve life and never promote what amounts to murder. Even more pressing is the need to ensure that medical/health decisions aren't made on the basis of monetary and so called 'productive personhood' considerations. It's outrageous, unthinkable, but that's just what happened in Terri's case. She was inconvenient, and there was money to be made, so she was done away with.
