Terri Memorial Thread
I wouldn't call this medieval. This is completely modern. As Evelyn Waugh might have said, this is something "only this ghastly age could produce."
I, too, now firmly oppose the death penalty. It cannot be trusted in the hands of a government like this
I also agree with all of you saying this.
We have now seen the corruption of our judicial system.
There is no such thing as due process in the United Socialist States of Amerika.
And without due process we are not justified taking human life, even after a criminal conviction....technicalities and proceduralism rule the courts, not the search for truth, and we cannot kill anyone based upon that.

And THAT is the sad truth.
My father and I were watching the news, and I believe we were watching an item about the genocide in Darfur and how the UN was pussyfooting around it. My father said something which stuck with me - "I wonder sometimes when God is finally going to lose patience with us". I wonder that myself.
Regards, Ivan
Perhaps. On the other hand, it might be more fitting to the circumstances. From what did this present murder arise but Constitutional chaos? I wonder: can the crisis be met without a firm resolve and a big stick?
The Congress in recent months has abandoned the strong positions, and the enemy has shown far more stomach for the fight. Moreover, Congress is not contrued and established for decisiveness. The branch best suited to decisive action is the executive. If Jebb would not do his duty here, will he ever? I fear the brothers think alike. Not only had he the authority to act, Jebb had the constitutional duty to protect Terri's life. Better to have prevented the murder than afterwards to hope to rectify it. It bodes ill.
That was the third from the NY delegation.
Sorry for the error.
It is naive to think this will not happen again. The Republicans and Democrats who voiced support for Terri will fade into the woodwork and continue with "more important business for our country". The moves they made to intervene were so watered down that the judges were free to ignore them. I will be surprised if they even hold Greer in contempt of Congress as they should.
Also, I still believe that the executive branch could have done something by executive order. After all they pardon criminals don't they?
Marc Rich was pardoned, Terri was not.
All i can say is, Why.
The only answer i get is: Wake-Up Call...
Do not let her have died in vain.
If the title "not in our name" wasn't already taken and tarnished, it would be a fitting title for an organization dedicated to make sure this doesn't happen this way again.
May Terri rest in peace and may her parents take some small comfort that she is no longer in Michael's clutches.
Yes, I saw it last night. Kenny died and went to heaven but he got revived and was in PVS. The Devil was attacking Heaven and God needed Kenny because of his special talents to drive off the demonic hordes. So God sent two angels back to earth to pull the plug on Kenny. The Devil on the other hand sent a demon to whisper in the ear of Tom Delay so that Kenny's Law would be passed. One of Kennys friends for life said he knew that Kenny didnt want to be kept alive in such a state so they pulled the plug. Kenny went to heaven and destroyed the invading hordes and the Devil returned to Hell.
BTTT!!!!!!!
"The only "failure" on the part of Congress has been their inability to confirm qualified judges to the federal circuit courts, and U.S. Supreme Court."
They also failed to hail Judge Greer's sorry ass into jail for contempt of congress. That just MIGHT have gotten the attention of some of these black-robed Deathites.

A sad day for our country, God Bless her soul.
