International gay leaders are planning a 10-day WorldPride festival and parade in Jerusalem in August, saying they want to make a statement about tolerance and diversity in the Holy City, home to three great religious traditions.
Now major leaders of the three faiths - Christianity, Judaism and Islam - are making a rare show of unity to try to stop the festival. They say the event would desecrate the city and convey the erroneous impression that homosexuality is acceptable.
"They are creating a deep and terrible sorrow that is unbearable," Shlomo Amar, Israel's Sephardic chief rabbi, said yesterday at a news conference in Jerusalem attended by Israel's two chief rabbis, the patriarchs of the Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Armenian churches, and three senior Muslim prayer leaders. "It hurts all of the religions. We are all against it."
Abdel Aziz Bukhari, a Sufi sheik, added: "We can't permit anybody to come and make the Holy City dirty. This is very ugly and very nasty to have these people come to Jerusalem."

Meet the buttpumpers at the airport gate and put them on a plane to Zimbabwe.
Its that kind of mind numbing hate that gives ammunition to our opposition. (From the moral perspective of a tobacco farmer not less.)
It your kind of "feelings " for homosexuals that have them running around recruiting kids in our public schools.
Whats "hateful" about it?
By choosing this locale, they're in effect giving the finger to religous morality.
I'd expect no less of them.

I'd expect no less of them."
It would appear to be gratuitously provocative!
ping.
Then lack of hate would have to constitute feelings. If youre smart, youll slam them intelligently, without the name gutter calling that makes it so easy to turn it around on you .

Oops. I missed it. Maybe the mod should pull it.

I don't think its a big deal. LOL
FRs not a safe haven for brain dead name calling gay bashing. Be smart about it or find a lesser forum if thats at that level.
"Gutter name calling" doesn't make it "hate"...or have you bought into that liberal claptrap used to describe any position that differs from theirs?
Try that one on your wife :^)
Its the sickness I hate not the person.Calling it by nice names dosnt change that. Have a nice trip.
The correct terminology is homosexual -there is nothing gay about it. I try to always correctly refer to homosexuals as being disordered individuals that reqire moral guidance and refer to homosexual activity as being morally depraved and intrinsically evil -something to be avoided. I consider those that promote or advocate homosexual activity as being anything but disordered to be equally disordered and to be justly opposed.
No one knows the combination of factors creating homosexuality. All studies to date seem to suffer from sampling problems. I struggle even to follow the reasoning of the examinations of the data that exists.
I've gone through one analysis of studies from Colombia & Yale and another from Cambridge.
The former leans toward environment and says that the data "is inconstant with a simple genetic influence model, that "there's substantial support for the role of social influences ", and that "its consistent with a general model that allows for genetic expression of same-sex attraction under specific, highly circumscribed, social conditions." "
The latter takes a step toward genetics and concludes that, " it seems reasonable to conclude that male homosexuality, or, at least, some 'types' of male homosexuality, are under some degree of genetic control, although various problems with this data prevent more precise conclusions from being drawn.
Ive seen some papers and books that look at some of this data and lean much more strongly one way or the other, but the above links appear more academic and without obvious bias.
Also, I think the term gay is so widely accepted and the original meaning of the word is so lost (and therefore nearly irrelevant) that Im not fighting that battle. Even this subject is not one that I enjoy discussing. I just investigated it well enough to put it perspective, roughly equating it to mental disease. From what Im able to tell of its causes and effects, I think those that globally call its practitioners evil are as wrong as those that call it benign.
