The buck stops with the voters. They elected Judge Greer, they elected the legislatures that did not provide for a jury trial for Terri, the buck stops with us.

Wasn't Terri's law overturned by the Florida Supreme Court? During the 2000 election debacle it was mentioned that Florida's Supreme Court judges had to periodically have their positions confirmed by the voters. They can be voted out! Based on their actions regarding the election and their records as discussed then I'd think anyone to whom conservative positions on nearly any issue would want to vote all of them out. Thus letting Jeb and the nominally GOP legislature provide substitutes. During the election debacle there was talk about organizing to do just that.

From here in Iowa I haven't been able to keep up to date on the Florida seven. Have any of them been voted out? Have there been any serious efforts to remove even one of them? If not. than the now well organized Florida protesters have themselves to blame for their past inaction. They could have joined with conservative and GOP activists of many sorts - not just those motivated by pro-life issues - and convinced the voters to change the court and thus could have saved her.

Hello,

The night before Terri died, I was sure that her end was near, and I was in shock and tears. My husband (who was as appalled as I was) asked me to talk to him about how I was feeling.
I told him that I let Terri down. I could have spent the money to get to FL, to protest the murder of this innocent woman. I let her down. I never dreamed, ever, that this could have come to pass. The US, via the state of FL, could murder a woman, based upon the late (7 yrs) remembered words of a husband who has had a new "wife" and two kids by her? Color me stupid, as I did believe that someone, in FL., in the higher courts or the Supreme Court would save her.

When she died, on Thursday morning, I cried tears of grief and of guilt. I let her down, I trusted that this horror would be reversed. How wrong I was.
