There are issues here that would affect other people, but the law itself was only written for this one case. Bork said the Supremes never hear such cases. That it would have to be a general law before they would.

Would Terri's case be regarded as a precedent? Then it appears they are reluctant to set a precedent, fearing the possible ballooning of litigation that would result.
