I think the courts have an idea of the implications in terms of case load if these cases began to be contested en masse, as prompted by the spotlight shown on Terri's case.

They're not contested. 99% of the families agree.

One must ask, honestly, what the rationale for contesting this case is.

Conflict between "right to die" advocates, such as Felos and 'err on the side of life' advocates like the Catholic church, etc.

Well, in this case the family wants her alive. Some strange person with her last name who is living with a common law wife seems to insist differently.

Yup.

Sounds correct and logical, moral and righteous to me.

But that you mention it...'honesty' is a indeed a rational concept that some people just cannot get a grasp around.

Especially those into killing defenseless beings.
