Alleged MS-13 gang member detained near Brownsville (Texas)

— Border Patrol agents arrested an alleged Mara Salvatruchas gang member after he illegally crossed the Rio Grande Tuesday morning.
Border Patrol McAllen Sector spokesman Roy Cervantes said agents detained the El Salvador man near Brownsville.
Cervantes would not release the man’s name or age due to ongoing Tuesday afternoon interviews.
But Cervantes said agents identified him as a member of the Mara Salvatruchas gang through his tattoos.
Cervantes said the man would be interviewed, charged with illegal entry into the United States and processed for deportation.
The suspected gang member is expected to appear today in Federal court.
