As ridiculous as it gets.
The problem, dude, is that you are, in this situation, result driven in your political orientation. You would have condemned Reno's actions in 2000 because it resulted in returning a child to Cuba. Now you want heavy-handed state government action to thwart the authority of local officials. Because it would achieve the results you want. You can't have it both ways.
Boy you sure sound D-U-M-B.
We have seen Reagan stare down adversaries hugely more formidable than a small tyrant judge.
The comparison to the Soviet Union is wrong. One, the Soviet Union was unpopular, and other presidents had stood up to them before, although not as much as Reagan did. Two, Bush or Bush would not be standing up to "a small ... judge." They would be challenging the entire concept that judges cannot be defied. This is a very, very deep concept in our political system. In terms of politics, it is actually harder than was standing up to the Russians. The president or governor would be accused of acting illegally. In the eyes of at least half the country, they would have done just that. That half of the country would be wrong, but the political fallout would be enormous. I agree that sooner or later, preferably sooner, this does need to happen. But don't assume that Reagan would have done it. The fact is, he never did.
Judges are not the executive branch. They do not order the executive branch around. People who believe otherwise are enabling the judicary to stage a takeover of elected government.
Jeb is trash. He has NOT stood up for principle when he had a chance. Reagan would have had the stones to do the right thing.
Yeah, whatever.
When you don't have the facts, argue the law. When you don't have the law, argue the facts. When you don't have the facts or the law, pound the table.
No one ever argues Keyes points. Usually they attack him. That tells me something.
Talk about a keeper. ROFL!
