Dear sinkspur,
I guess we shoulda sent ol' Rosa Parks to the slammer for a good long time for breakin' those laws, huh?
Listen to yourself. These men have been charged to enforce a patently unjust court order. NOT A LAW, NOT A STATUTE, but a COURT ORDER by a PROBATE JUDGE, for pete's sake. They are charged with preventing anyone from preventing the murder of Terri Schiavo.
These officers are little else but armed thugs. They have no more excuse for their actions than anyone else participating in murder under the excuse of "I was just following orders."

I side with you on this.
Law exists to induce and encourage moral behavior.
In this case, protecting Terri is the moral behavior. If someone acting under color of authority says otherwise, then that was unfortunate, but should not dissuade someone from acting morally.
Protecting Terri is the ultimate good.
German Nazis were held accountable for following bad laws at Nuremberg. "I was just following the law" is no excuse for immoral behavior.
Little Eichmanns?
