Is our loveable fuzzball - the EIB Superstar ready for the inevitable? He's made sure every one knows exactly what his wishes are when the time comes so there's no debate over what's going to happen afterwards. None of that misplaced "compassion" being demonstrated for Terri Schiavo. The events of the last two weeks will make many of us review our living wills to make sure no one takes our life away before Our Maker calls us home.

Here is what I told my husband:

If I am brain dead and on a ventilator and/or heart/kung machine, pull the plug.

If I am like Terry Schiavo, make sure I am fed, watered, and kept clean. Have someone wheel me out into the fresh air once a day. Feel free to get a divorce and moce on, as long as you make sure I have good care. And make sure that Fox News is on the TV in my room.

How pitiful to believe life has so little value.

The problem is, 99% of the people here either have living wills or will rush out to get one this week. I know I am, and it will be abundantly clear.

Living wills will be no more sacrosanct than Last Will and Testament.

The Courts find a way to appease the person suing most of the time.

Well at least every one knows exactly what you want done. And a judge and the pro-death crowd can't override your wishes and claim to speak in your name. If this case has taught us all anything, its best to make the decision about the inevitable ourselves instead of having it made by others who might not have our best interests at heart.

You are correct. The big civil suer can win 75 percent of the time because he knows the ropes.

Living Wills are an invitation to litigation and unnecessary government intervention. Shall we draft legal documents to address every circumstance under which our lives pass from here to there? I'd like a document to exhonerate any driver who might happen to cause my demise while said driver is DUI.
