Since the volcano is such a big deal why don't we have Congress come up with a pork barrel project to safely level it and prevent the possible tsunami?
$300 billion to bulldoze it ought to be enough.
Or we could just use the Peaceful Atom to level it.
Or we could just laugh it off and stop worrying about bulls*it.
That would be a typical government program. It would bring on the very thing it's designed to prevent. Although I guess those things would prevent collapse of the volcano, and thus the worst of the tsunami, but they are also bound to set the sucker off.
What we should do is build a 55-yard high seawall along the entire eastern seabord. It would make the Great Wall of China look like Jersey barriers by comparison.
