I'm glad Greer isn't an Italian [j]udge
Wouldn't matter, the Vatican City is a sovereign entity, much like our Indian reservations are. He wouldn't have any jurisdiction over the case anyway.
There have already been a couple, but get ready for the flood of editorials wondering why the Pope doesn't resign and let someone else fill the vacancy, because his disabilities will leave the church 'leaderless.' Of course, those same editorials will have their favorite folks to put forward to fill his job.
The College of Cardinals would do well to pay attention to which people are put forward by the media and to strike them off of any list to be Pope.

Wouldn't matter, the Vatican City is a sovereign entity, much like our Indian reservations are. Do you think Greer would let a minor technicality like that stand in his way?

Those editorials came out the first time he entered the hospital.

Wouldn't matter, the Vatican City is a sovereign entity, much like our Indian reservations are Indian nations don't have their own foreign policy, the Holy See does. It's even got a mercenary "army" of sorts, and a darn fine intelligence service too.
