"and will concentrate instead on a bid for the vice-presidential nomination in 2008,"
Good Grief. Hope those hopes are dashed quickly.
How dynamic would a Frist /Pataki ticket be? /yes sarcasm
"Gov. Pataki .... will concentrate instead on a bid for the vice-presidential nomination in 2008..."
Bwahahaha!!
This puts a whole new meaning on setting high goals for oneself, doesn't it?
"Son what do want to be when you grow up? President?"
"No, dad -- Vice-President!"
I wouldn't vote for Pataki for rat catcher.
This is one of the guys, along with Pete Wilson, who tried to split the party by forcing the RNC to drop the pro-life plank.
On top of that, he is a total incompetent, who has been little more than a vegetable in office.
I believe he is not seeking another term because he knows he has no chance to win.
Why should he run for Governor again? He has already reigned in Albany while ignoring extensive decline in the Republican party statewide and doing nothing about it. He won the last election by making expensive deals with the teachers and service workers unions; part of which has helped contribute extra billions to NY state's already bloated Medicare costs.
Now he wants an opportunity to do the same for the Republicans at the national level?!?
Hopefully he will not even get a chance to speak at the convention - zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
ping!
hahhahahahahahahahaha
I wish I could explain why it is that every time I see his name in a headline, I initially read "Pakistani."
At last, he has found a role which can be downsized to suit his marginal capabilities.
Regards, Ivan
He know he won't get the VP slot either, but he will get national exposure. Pataki wants CASH. Being a legitimate candidate he will get the exposure he needs to request $50,000+ speaking fees, enough to have an easy life making easy cash. That's what this is all about.
Reason enough for a preemptive BARF ALERT.
Good, he was a failed Governor. He'll probably be a bigger flop than Guliani would be though.
