I just sent two shoe boxes full of stuff for tsunami relief for young children. It's a wonderful ministry and well worth your donations. His father is a man of integrity and so is the son. M
Too bad your God isn't as big as mine. He can do anything and anywhere He chooses. Quit putting him in a box, Publius. God has a purpose for this and it WILL be done.
All the more so with the discovery on this thread of a FREEPER with friends and relatives working on such front lines able to affirm that the estimates are conservative.

Our school was also a Christ-centered school until around the 50's. We trained men to be missionaries and ministers. Now we train them to be peaceniks, pseudo-religious 'ministers' and millionaires! Well, they think they ought to be anyway.
I got involved in the Easter shoebox ministry for Tsunami relief. It's such fun. We sent the box out yesterday. I love doing things like that, practical and fun! I hope we can do something at Christmas, too. Mxxx

I didn't know there was such a thing! I will check into it.
Sending money is very important, but it is so personal to fill the box. We choose the older children because we have teens, and also because the little ones probably get more attention. I put in fun stuff and try to get things that have a function and practical package as well. The packing boxes, ziploc baggies are all useful. I even use hard candy stuffed into the cracks and crevasses to cushion the goodies like edible packing beans. I visualize the child and even give "names".
One couple in our church has participated for years. They include their picture and address. They have received several replies over the years. What a joy!

THANKS THANKS. The drug-out long process is super sad. Just the thing she most feared and loathed the idea of.
She's got energy back today. I still feel there's some prayer that I need to discern better how to pray so she can just let go of this world and this life and seize the better One. That would by far be her preference though there may be some fleshy sort of thing still tying her a bit to this life.

I believe God created in each one of us the will to live. Look at Terri! She's hanging right in there. If we didn't have the will to live, we'd kill ourselves the first tragedy that came our way.
I didn't put in a picture. I was thinking about it but didn't. This is the first time but I hope to do more. It's a blessing to be able to.
