Husband seeks autopsy on Terri Schiavo
CNN ^ | March,28,2005

PINELLAS PARK, Florida (CNN) -- Terri Schiavo's husband has asked that an autopsy be performed on his wife after she dies so that a full report can be done on the extent of her brain damage, an attorney for Michael Schiavo said Monday.

Attorney George Felos said the autopsy will be performed by Dr. Jon Thogmartin, the chief medical examiner of Pinellas County.

I was driving home from home at Midnight CST, and heard this on ABC radio news. As I can best relate the story, Michael Schiavo wants to quash all the speculation going around (internet?) that he is covering something up. He wants to prove how badly damaged her brain was.

OK, time for me to think conspiracy again (sorry gang). Do you suppose he will "ask" for the autopsy knowing that the County M.E. will turn him down? Or is this a way to control who does the autopsy and WHAT they look for?

I am glad he is asking for this, but I would feel more certain about the reliability of the findings if there were other pathologists (state level) present to observe and comment. If Michael Schiavo wants to quash "rumors" this would be wise. I wonder how this will play out?

It seems there is a law in Florida, that if you want to creamate someone, you must have an autopsy -- presumably so people can't hide their crime by creamating the body quickly. Since the law requires it, now all of a sudden, MS wants it, because he has to have it done.

But Terri should have been examined while she was alive -- how much will they find now, other than she died by massive organ failure, as a result of dehydration.

BINGO!!!

If Michael wants an autopsy, the fix MUST be in!!! He's got something on Dr. Jon Thogmartin, the chief medical examiner of Pinellas County that he would not want revealed.

I heard Dr. Baden (sp?) on FNC... He said the ME's office in Florida is very good.

He also said, IF A CREMATION IS REQUESTED, THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEMANDS AN AUTOPSY **PRIOR** TO CREMATION.

So don't be complimenting slime Michael. He's just trying to spin this.

On some broadcast tonight they pointed out that, since he wants to cremate the body, an autopsy is automatic (in Florida). So, if this is true, then all the statements from the spokesmen/attornies are just for show.

It's spin from Felos because Florida law requires an autopsy before a cremation. Scumbags.

I just thought of this---Since Michael claims Terri "DIED FIFTEEN YEARS AGO," the Medical Examiner should EXAMINE HER NOW!!!!!

Could you people be any more paranoid? Now you're sullying the name of a coroner you know absolutely nothing about. Do you have any shame at all?

Nobody is sullying the name of the coroner.

Don't you think people have reason to feel paranoid in view of the shady misdealings that have already occurred? How do we know this doctor is not one of the "gang"?

"Do you have any shame at all?"

You'll have to admit, there hasn't been too many people in Florida politics that exhudes an air of trust and confidence ever since Janet set the pace for corruption. Anyone connected with the case should be scrutinized at this point. It's critical that there be a true and factual record of Terri's condition before she is cremated. The future is going to demand it. Any doubts should be eliminated before hand. I would think the 'husband' would demand it as well.

Oh come on

With all absolute due respect, this is DU-conspiracy quality

Go through my posts, you'll see I wanted Terri to live and have due process as much as anyone, but this is too much.

Well .. I do believe they could only release the brain stats and ignore reporting anything else - stating it's priority or whatever.

What I would be concerned about would be - did the whole body get checked? If so - where is the report? Her body should never be allowed to be cremated without having a full set of X-rays, etc.

But .. from what I've seen of this county's actions so far - I doubt they will do anything except report on the brain disfunction.

That law makes sense, because you can't exhume a cremated body later in the course of an investigation.

As the husband readies himself for a new life,
and maybe, a new wife...

Let us ponder what is at stake
for all of US.

Why is it Clinton- Appointed-Judges refused to honor
President Bush's call for a review of Terri's case?

Is this a big Clinton FOOT trying to trip any positive
approval rating for Individual Rights and for President Bush...and Terri just got in the way?

All in hopes of FATTENING Hillary's chances in 2008?

Did Terri DIE
so Hillary could WIN?

Did Elian GO
so Bill Clinton could prove allegiance to
anti-American sentiment?

Yes, Yes, and YES.

Just wait until Hillary Rodham
pulls out America's Feeding-Tube
and deprives us of the Internet and Privacy.

He could've just asked for a complete battery of new tests prior to removing her feeding tube.

MRI's, PET's, and CAT scans would have settled the issue by detailing the physical structure and actual brain activity going on in her brain.

An autopsy won't prove anything because the brain begins to collapse immediately after death.

If he wants a full autopsy to determine how she ended up in this state, they'll have a hard time finding anything because the evidence will have faded after 15 years, with plausible explanations for the remnants of whatever injuries can still be found.

Too little too late from Michael Schiavo, and all of it is just window dressing.

Most people have found so many crooks in the Florida government, we have begun to wonder if there is anything else?

Pardon me, but the way this whole drama has played out so far, with Greer, Felos etc. I think we have every right to question what goes on. With every decision down the line, how could you not be thinking a little bit paranoid. Even when I listen to talk radio or the news, I do research if I am not comfortable with what they say. Rather than questioning our mental health, why not post something useful like the curriculum vitae of the ME? Or, previous findings from his office? To come on here and start accusing people of character assassination and paranoia, isn't that what your post does to the people on this thread? Are you paranoid?
