Yes, lets kick all the aliens out and give the $2.25 and hour and $3.85 jobs such as pool cleaner, stock boy, Janitor and cashier too......Who want those jobs? Problem is that politicians figure out pretty fast that the nitty gritty jobs that nobody wants with minimum wage and no benefits has to be done by someone and it is rare that someone that wants Union protection for a 4 day a week job that pays $50 an hour, with full medical, full dental,2 weeks vacation pay,etc would do the same job for $4.25 and hour. Problem is a lot of Employers can't afford the modern and legal Mafia known as Labor Unions demands and so the smaller ones will just except the high turn around of people temporarily excepting their meager wages and no benefits and may even not ask for validity of worker's name, address and such...especially if a Mom and Pop operation (had a job offered to me with no questions asked and I was like "You know it really isn't safe to trust me that easyily") while Big Businesses just outsource to India and move their operations to the countries that offer cheapest labor. Doing a total Crackdown will won't necessarily put small businesses out of business as they'll always find teenagers looking for a little extra money, and Big Businesses can just move entire operations overseas, or in the Case of Walmart,as soon as unionization looks imminent Shut Down/Close up/and leave like they did in Canada. In short (I know, too late) The Economy will neither be improved nor get worse even if every Illegal Alien was preventing from entering, and the politicians know it.

Any way to help without going to these marches? How about an on-line petition?

You know, I love these minutemen guys and I am so proud of conservatives for taking on this issue and not letting it slide just because our party is in office.

You notice liberals NEVER hold their party accountable for anything? They simply enable. Conservatives seem to have a moral core that doesn't allow them to lie even to themselves---especially to themselves when our guys are truly screwing up. It must be genetic. Can you name any liberal who has the truth-telling gene? I can't.

Hey...welcome to FreeRepublic (as this is day #2 for you)

I think you'll find that repeating the standard Dem talking points will provide a wealth of opportunities to be educated by some of the very well thought through Freepers. Stick around and read them, it will be good for you.

You obviously don't like the idea of sound borders, particularly those to the South, so what do you suggest: open borders? Mexico, Canada and S. American, all just living as one giant Union? What is YOUR solution?

Oh, so it's heinous evil for Nike to run a shoe factory in S.E. Asia where they pay the locals 10X their non-existent national minimum wage to make shoes, but it's just fine and dandy for U.S. employers to engage in bona fide exploitation of illegal immigrants by paying them below the U.S. National minimum wage for their work?

If you think the first is wrong, the second is beyond wrong.

For what it's worth -- and I understand that this may shock you -- I had MANY college friends who worked in fields and orchards when they were in High School, and I'm talking white kids, here. You know, the kind that "don't want 'those' jobs."

The real kernel of this issue, however, is that this isn't a predominantly economic issue; it's an issue of Law.

I have no problem with the same number of Mexican, South American and Central American people coming to this country as are coming here, now, but I demand that they do it LEGALLY and I demand that the United States Government act to uphold the Constitution and the rule of Law by actively enforcing the immigration laws that We, the People have enacted through our Congressional Representatives. It's THAT simple.

If you think the Law should be changed, fine. Call your Representatives and agitate for it, but in the meantime uphold the existing Law, because, if you do not uphold and enforce the existing law that you don't like, you will have no basis to condemn those who break future laws you might enact.

Is this a FR sponsored event? If so it seems a slap in the face to all the prevailing open borders crowd that has posted so prevalently here in the immigration flame war threads.

Will supporters of this march be called racists? If supporters of this event volunteer to go to the border with the minutemen will they be condemned by FR management as associating with white supremacist groups?

Is Tarancado soon to become the next golden boy of the republican party?

It's a bit confusing, I'm surprised to see it on the home page given all the grief JimRob gave the Minuteman project.
