School near Schiavo's hospice sending students elsewhere

Students enrolled at the elementary school near the hospice where Terri Schiavo lives will be sent to other facilities this week, a move designed to keep the children away from the gauntlet of media and protesters covering the ongoing saga.

The 600 students at Cross Bayou Elementary School will be split among three neighboring schools, said Pinellas County schools spokesman Ron Stone. The school is located just west of the Woodside Hospice, where protesters and media have gathered since Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed March 18.

That was the school's last day of classes; it was closed last week for spring break. Many students were absent on the day the tube was pulled, something school officials attributed to the frenzy outside the hospice.

"It is felt that the unstable and highly emotional environment that currently exists at the Woodside Hospice and the security measures currently in place by law enforcement will make it difficult for school to function normally," schools superintendent Clayton Wilcox said in a statement Sunday.

The two facilities are located on a dead-end street, and students must pass the hospice before reaching school. During the last week the school was open, police had to escort students through the maze of protesters to ensure safety.

What is this hospice-lovin' dying-is-the-cat's-pajama's attitude that the death-loving freaks of the left are trying to inculcate? Why are they sending school-kids to death houses to begin with?

They're afraid kids will learn about "life?"
My, they can't have that! Years of pro-death programming would go right down the drain.

I wonder if they can hear the screaming?

I agree with you. Let the kids learn how stupid the adults can be.

You didn't ask me, but kids have to go to school. They can't go to their own school because of the circus created in front of the hospice.

Bullhorns amplifying the reprehensible Randall Terry are not conducive to an atmosphere of learning.

Judgenfuhrer Greer: "I sent them away and will grab the children we need to serve us
and to supply us with the necessary organs during the transfer."

What a lesson to teach our children! An innocent woman is being murdered and put to death, and a lot of people do not like it that our government sanctions such as this, so kids, you need to go to a different school.

God help us all, we are sinking low as a nation. Poor kids.

I think Randall Terry only cares about Randall Terry and using bullhorns and whatever tools he has will disrupt everyone in the vicinity and he does not care.

When I think how many strides the pro life movement has made, especially with regard to technology that is turning even some democrats introspective on the issue of abortion, and how the ugly face of Randall Terry has set that back about 20 years, I could weep.

Six hundred children's schedules are in an upheaval because one family cannot let their child be at peace and be released from this life. Imagine explaining that to small children.

I object to your superimposing Judge Greer's face over Nazi images.

The Holocaust was an entirely different and horrific event.

Sorry. Had to suggest a alternative view of the issue.

Here's another alternative view.

What's next? Will the courts require that feeding tubes be used AGAINST a person's wish? against a family's wishes?

Will a respirator be used against a person's wish? against a family's wishes? and so forth
Will heart surgery be mandated because it can be done?
Will dialysis be ordered even though the person would rather go meet his Maker?
Will a person be ordered to accept an organ transplant?

The implications are frightening, and far worse than you are imagining.

Switch the direction of your verbiage, and it is happening. And it's still frightening, and will be worse than the isolated case at hand as soon as the slippery slope works its magic.

I don't know why the kids are being sent elsewhere for school? Isn't this an excellent civics lesson for them on the separations of power? For how commanding the congress and the president of the united states can be. For how much their current governor is protecting the helpless in their state??????

Once again:

Faulty logic.

NO ONE is saying that people shouldn't be allowed to choose their own fate. NO ONE. NO ONE. NO ONE.

People who feel strongly can protect themselves with a living will, or make their wishes known loudly & clearly. Even then, I imagine there will be circumstances where a living will can be used AGAINST someone too, if the State so chooses.

A problem arises for logical, independent thinking people everywhere when other factors cloud the issue. When I see affadavits from former nurses that took care of her, from people that used to work with her, from her friends & blood family, I see contradictions with what the husband and his family say. I find out she was talking about a divorce before she collapsed. That her husband was very controlling & used to check her odometer mileage every day. That a bone scan taken after she had been hospitalized for some time, showed numerous broken bones in her body? That he is living with another woman & 2 children he fathered. That approximately half a million dollars in legal fees to have Terri starved to death have all come out of the fund of money that was supposed to be spent on Terri's care & rehabilitation. That was back when her husband said she wanted to live & he was going to take care of her. Now he's so sure, she would want to starve & dehydrate to death & be cremated against her religious beliefs.

I think in view of such suspicious evidence, I would hope my government would step in & save me from such woeful foul play.

The implications are frightening, and far worse than you are imagining.

You are exactly right about that.
