In this debate, the humanness of Terri is lost. Our society has let down a kind individual who deserves nothing less than her full civil rights as afforded by the Constitution of the United States and her creator.
Death to the infidels!!
I reverse the question some of you who thinks Mike schiavo is right and should be guardian- and Terri should die.
Assume, Terris your daughter. And assume the feeding tube has not been removed, and she exists healthy in body, but not in mind- in a vegetative state. .
Now you, her parent,in your heart, feel shes suffering and you DONT want her to live like that, and you want to pull the feeding tube. Fine. As her parent, that would be your right and within the dictates of your conscience and it would be none of mine or the government's business.
However, how would you feel if her husband, shacked up with another woman, maintained legal guardianship over your daughter, and each month was receiving disability benefits from her former employer. And this estranged husband told you that he was legally going to keep her alive? How would you feel about that?
In my view, Schiavo gave up his right to be Guardian when he shacked up with the other woman. He's got a conflict of interest, and shouldn't be making the life and death decision
.
CLINTON-Appointed Federal Judge refuses to hear new evidence and witnesses on TERRI's behalf as instructed by Congress =
ALOHA TERRI
.
If this hadn't happened to Terri we would not have heard of her. She sounds like a good person who just wanted to be happily married with kids and perhaps work with animals. This could be anybody. Her mistake was marrying Michael. He ended that dream.
Someone in the media should answer another question. Who is Michael Schiavo? Where did he come from? What kind of environment was he raised in? What made him so vicious and hateful? Why did he kill her?
Maybe someday I'll be watching his case on some Court TV crime story.
I have to say, I was never really big on the "Michael Shiavo tried to kill her story", but after reading this, there are so many signs that Michael's hell-bent state to have her die may have everything to do with destorying evidence.
It's all in the past tense. I'd like to think there's still time to save her.
Now that a county judge has ordered the death of Terri Schiavo because she needs extraordinary methods for nutrition, how much farther down the road will it be that the baby bottle will be considered 'extraordinary method for nutrition?'
She has become a poster child for everything that is wrong in America, on both sides of the issue!
Nobody is going to win.
That kind of requires being sentient and moving about a bit.
This case is being used as a test case by the pro-Euthanasia movement and Michael Schiavo has been a willing dupe. George Felos has a long record with that movement, and he was hired in part because hiring Geoffrey Feiger, a far better and media smart lawyer was too connected to Dr. Kevorkian.
Here is a thought that I hope will be considered even by those who agree that Jeb and W have done all that they could within the law.
Michael Schiavo last week invited both the President and the Governor to visit his wife. I think they should go.
And bring her water.
Some argue that the Governor would be dangerously disrupting the balance of powers between the branches of government if he took executive action. Arresting him for bringing water would be such a breech as well, but it would be by those serving the court.
Fifty have already been arrested trying to bring Terri water. Go, Mr President. Go, Governor. Bring her water.
