I feel a terrible disturbance in the force.
Let's hope it's not enough to start another tsunami, or take any more lives. 200,000 is plenty.

Upgraded to 8.7
Let's see - the day after Christmas a 9.0+ quake in predominently moslem region
the day after Easter, an 8.7+ quake in the same region
Is SOMEONE trying to tell them something?

UPDATE:
A massive earthquake killed dozens of people and destroyed hundreds of homes in the main town on Indonesia's Nias island on Monday evening, according to a local government official.
Agus Mendrofa, the deputy mayor of Gunungsitoli town, estimated that 10,000 people had fled the town for higher ground after the 8.7 magnitude quake off the main island of Sumatra.
"I can guarantee that dozens have died," Mr Mendrofa said by telephone.
"Gunungsitoli is now like a dead town. The situation here is in extreme panic."
Mr Mendrofa added that roads had also been cracked by the quake.

I am in Europe watching the quake tragedy unfold on CNN and it is clear that this is finally the natural disaster that the UN is prepared to handle flawlessly-- the Imaginary Tsunami. This rare disaster is easily subdued by large amounts of east-blowing hot air and bloviating.
The UN has saved millions with its quick response to the Imaginary wave.
