MATTHEWS, N.C. - Wall Watchers, through its donor empowerment Website www.ministrywatch.com, has issued its third Donor Alert for Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
Wall Watchers CEO Rusty Leonard explained, "The decision by TBN leadership to revert to stonewalling Ministrywatch.com's attempt to obtain crucial answers to important questions of governance and finances at the ministry just two months after TBN Vice President of Administration Paul Crouch Jr. agreed to answer these questions has caused MinistryWatch.com to again recommend that donors withhold contributions to TBN."
Donor Alerts are issued, said Leonard, because, "MinistryWatch.com believes educated and knowledgeable donors are the best stewards of their giving to the Lord's work and extend the impact of their giving the farthest."
The full Donor Alert can be read at: http://www.ministrywatch.com/mw2.1/pdf/MWDA_031805_TBN.pdf
...On October 8, 2004, a MinistryWatch.com official engaged in a cordial conversation with pledges of cooperation from Mr. Crouch Jr. Soon, however, the dialogue deteriorated, and within about two months, following an un-Biblical pattern it has used in the past with others, TBN threatened to sue MinistryWatch.com. the letter threatening legal action - dated December 9, 2004 - was the last official correspondence from TBN."

1. "Do you know what else that's settled then tonight? This hue and cry and controversy that has been spawned by the devil to try to bring dissension within the body of Christ that we are gods. I am a little god. I have His name. I am one with Him. I'm in covenent relation. I am a little God. Critics be gone! (You are everything that He is.)" (Paul Crouch, "Praise the Lord" program, July 7, 1986).
2.)...I refuse to argue any longer with any of you out there. Don't even call me. If you want to argue doctrine. if you want to straighten out somebody over here. if you want to criticize Ken Copeland for his preaching on faith, or Dad Hagin. Get out of my life! I don't even want to talk to you or hear you. I don't want to see your ugly face! Get out of my face in Jesus' name." (Paul Crouch, "Praise-a-thon" broadcast on TBN, recorded 4/2/91)
I often wonder what God thinks about people who take money in His name and then live like they are a God.
I thought that you might want to read this.
I'm fairly sure that the Bible addresses this issue.
He probably thinks of how that money could have been spent, on like helping to translate the scriptures into the over 300 languages around the world which still don't have a shred of the Bible in their native tongue.
This is just the beginning of many things which desperately need attention....and finances.
And you were right. Thanks for the ping and a ping of my own.
Unfortunately, TBN has become a collection of screamers, heretics, personality cultists and hucksters (with some exceptions)and has been associated with evangelicalism. Evangelicalism has its own CGM embarrassment to deal with but the kooks on TBN cannot be classified as Catholics or Protestants. I am fairly sure that some of the anti-christians that inject their venom into forums such as this have either obtained their mental picture of Christianity from such broadcasters as TBN, or had their negative mental images reinforced by such.
Of course it does. God condemns both the TBN leadership and those who give to them
Prov 22:16
He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.
I have been a professing Christian since 1981. I dumped TV in 1997. I caught this guy on TBN with a guy named benny hana or hin or something when I was in a hotel room a few months ago.
The whole thing gave me the heeby jeebies.
May I chime in?
Unfortunately, there are those who use a broad brushstroke and lump WOF(Word-Faith) teachers in with Protestants who adhere to a more traditional orthodox view of Christianity.
As well, I even have come across some websites/org's which appear to have gone so far as to even lump together Charismatics(who believe in the restoration of the office of Apostle and Prophet to head the church) with traditional Pentecostals who adamantly deny this doctrine.
There are fringe movements. The kooky WOF crowd, though, in my humble opinion, is probably the most extreme.
Is Paul Crouch the guy with the wife who has big pink hair and who cries all the time (ala Tammy Faye?)
Yes, indeed WOFfers are not Protestants. There may already be a catch-all category for these do-your-own-thingers but I'm not sure what it would be unless "false teachers."
Robroy,
if it was Benny Hinn, here is a video clip of Benny hinn which I imagine will give you even more insight into the man...

"The Spirit tells me - Fidel Castro will die - in the 90's. Oooh my! Some will try to kill him and they will not succeed. But there will come a change in his physical health, and he will not stay in power, and Cuba will be visited of God."
Uh, I believe that Castro is STILL alive.
I think we agree on most things, but I believe I have to break ranks with you here. Apparently I'm part of the "CGM" and find it quite unfortunate that you (and many others here) find us an embarrassment. I've talked with a couple of old friends who disagree with me here and it gets down to this: it's not what we teach, it's how.
Please feel free to email me about any concerns you have with the CGM and I'll see if I can bring to rest any concerns you have.
So, what does the Bible tell us to do with false prophets?
Thanks. I'll check it out. I've read a lot on the subject but don't know if I've read anything from the sources you provided.
Billy Graham has an audit conducted every year that is available to interested parties.
