When Dan Rather used fake memos to smear President Bush, bloggers blew the whistle and the rest of the media recognized a journalistic scandal. But coverage of the dubious GOP Talking Points memo on the Schiavo case has been far different. Perhaps realizing that another phony document scandal could totally sink the credibility of the so-called mainstream media, there is great reluctance to admit that journalists from ABC News, the Washington Post, CBS News and other news organizations were taken in again, and that the Democrats played a dirty trick on the Republicans in a matter of life and death.
The significance of the memo cannot be underestimated. It surfaced at a time when Democrats were on the defensive about what to do in the Schiavo case. Would they allow a federal review of the case, as is routinely done for convicted killers facing the death penalty? What better way was there to turn the table on the Republicans than by charging that they really didnt care about Terri Schiavo but only wanted to fire up their conservative pro-life base? The GOP Talking Points memo fit the bill perfectly. It called the case a great political issue for the Republicans.

This needs to be investigated, and publicized!!!
PS Thanks for posting it.
End of story.
We need to find out the whole story here. If this is true, we need to pursue it hard!
Rather's 'forgeries' and Mapes' contact with the Kerry Campaign laid it out before our very eyes... and we did NOTHING!
Back in a time when American's were of 'clearer mind', the offices at 'Black Rock' would have been torched... and rightly so. The collusion between the MSM and the DNC is the perfect story... that few seem interested in reporting.

Hey, no big deal I have read FReepers say the same thing about the Republicans Constitutionally acting calling it "grandstanding".
The liberals are not the only ones who hate "hayseed hick Christians", there are plenty of moderate nobles who despise them and consider them trash. These moderate nobles do not want their reputations tarnished.
There are LEGITIMATE Democrat Talking points developed by left-wing interest groups sitting on a Senate server outlining how to stall the confirmation of judges for POLITICAL ADVANTAGES. Why isn't Linda Douglass/Tim Russert/Chris Wallace reporting this?
Hello? Hello?
These are not normal times.
The FACT that Terri Schiavo is dying, and that Republicans in executive and legislative office can find nothing in their power to stop her , IS THE STORY.
By contrast, political positioning (whether real, imagined, or feigned) is pure "inside-baseball", and, at least to this reader, IRRELEVANT.
Interesting.
I don't, either.......and agree that someone needs
to report the REAL story here.....namely, that
ABC's Linda Douglass is a DNC mouthpiece.
No... Ms Schiavo is the just a pawn in a fight between pro-life & pro-death forces.
The BIG story... since the forged, Bush military-memo's, is the collusion between the MSM, the Courts & the DNC.
It's so damned obvious... 'ya 'gotta be a fool not to see it. I'm just wondering how much longer they can spin this crap without being strung-up from the nearest tree!
The Democrat talking points were uncovered and published as
an appendix in Men in Black. That the more recent Democratic
Talking points relative to Terri Schiavo have been submitted covertly as a phony memo purprotedly stating Republican talking points (as cited by the apostate Rev.
Wallis on Meet the Press) is game the Jacki have played before. I suspect the memo was produced by a staff aid for
Kennedy,Schumer, or such.
