Former General Electric CEO Jack Welch says he has no regrets about leaving his wife for a former magazine editor, 24 years his junior........
"I don't care. I fell in love," Welch tells Dan Rather in a wide ranging interview for the CBS TV show "60 Minutes" to air Wednesday, of his affair with Suzy Wetlaufer, the former editor of the Harvard Business Review, who is now his wife.
Welch said the resulting scandal didn't bother him nearly as much as the nickname "Neutron Jack," acquired after he fired thousands of workers from GE.
As for the perks, Welch said that he was in an unwinnable situation when it became known that he had continued staying in GE apartments and flying on the corporate jet, after his retirement.
"Give the money back," he said, "and look like I did something wrong."
"Or keep the perks," he continued, "and look like a greedy pig."
In the end, Welch voted against the "greedy pig" option, and gave up the perks.
Welch and Suzy, in their first network TV interview since their marriage, said they've decided against having children, because of the huge age difference.
"We think about me being 80 and she's 55 and, you know, will I be a bumbling idiot someday?" Welch said.
Some, like ex-wife Jane Beasley, might agree.

She will take him for all he has. Arrogant moronic fool.
It will last till the end of time. His time, anyway.
That picture is sick - he looks he's the FATHER taking his daughter's hand. What a sick man.
Keep trying - today may be your lucky day.

-To say nothing of her taste. I bet the first thing she installed in the bedroom was:
"Clap off. Clap on. -THE CLAPPER!!!"
.......May-December romances (sigh).....too bad the days grow short when the groom has reached December........
LOL.......good one.

Makes it sound like it was a job interview.
I hope when I'm his age I can fall in love and marry a significantly younger woman. In fact, as my wife approaches 40-years-old, I'm sort of looking forward to it ...
No fool like an old fool.
He married too old.
The rule for a second (third, fourth, etc.) wife is "half your age plus seven".
Good point....somebody oughta sumbit it to Guinness. LOL.
I think the wife he ditched for Wetlaufer was the one he dumped his first wife for.
He deserves it.
You've got to be really rich and/or really famous, preferably both.
In spite of the Feminist Movement, there are still plenty of gold-diggers out there. But hey, if you're that rich, I guess you don't mind paying top dollar for some action.
I'm sure he'll outsource her to India soon enough.
Do these guys really delude themselves that their young wives actually like seeing them naked? Yuck!
He's marrying a very good professional actress, in the sense that she's acting, she's giving a good enough performance to fool him, and she's getting money for it.
