The perpetuation of "the Jews killed Christ" dogma is nothing more than thinly-veiled rationalization for anti-Semitism.

Well, IT WASN'T the IRISH!

Let's be honest. It was a Jewish area, Jesus was Jewish, his mother was Jewish and some of his Jewish apostles spread Christianity.

That's like asking, did the Americans kill dr. Martin Luther King? (I know he's far from Jesus but the analogy stands) or how about, "Did the Indians assassinate Ghandi?"

This is much too complicated a matter to answer in a few words, but the best and only direct historical evidence we have is the gospels.

They suggest that the Jewish Temple leadership wanted Christ's death for blasphemy: that is, for claiming to be the promised Messiah. The Jews had no power to execute anyone, so they turned him over to the Romans with the suggestion that He was seditious and wanted to be king. Pontius Pilate found Him innocent, but ordered Him crucified in order to avoid a riot and consequent loss of his job.

So Jesus was killed by Jews (not THE Jews) and by Romans. He himself and all the early disciples were Jewish.

The traditional Christian view is that Jesus died to atone for the sins of ALL MEN (and for you feminists, that includes women & children). Therefore all of us are responsible for His death.

We all killed Jesus.

It's just that the Jewish leaders acted as our voices and the Romans acted as our hands. But they are in no sense more responsible than the rest of us.

How does this have any impact on the world today?

Are we talking predestination here, and or you saying it would not have made any difference where he was born into mankind the result would have been the same.

Jesus was not poor, although he became poor on the cross. I do not know if he was rich as the world sees it but I know he worked and probably hard. His parents received valuable gifts from the wise men that probably helped them start their married lives off quite well. When Jesus needed tax money, he told Peter to catch a fish and the money was in its mouth. When he needed to feed thousands he blessed a small portion and fed them all. When Peter was working all day fishing and came home empty, Jesus blessed him with so many fish he could barely take them in. That sounds like he probably made a good amount of money on that transaction.

Jesus ate food and drank wine (he even turned water to wine at a wedding where everyone had already emptied the skins that were brought).. He hung around prostitutes and other sinners. He also broke the Sabbath day which is the Law of Moses.

I believe He lives! There is no body. The accusation of murder is a moot point in light of the Resurrection.

And there it is.

All the banter about who killed Jesus is pointless. If you don't understand that, then you don't understand anything about why he was here or what he took with him when he left.

If Jesus was not God then the Jews would not be getting so worked upped trying to duck the blame for killing Him. They doubtless killed a lot of other people in biblical times. And if Jesus is God then the belief of Judaism that He was just another prophet is false.

Acts 3:13 through Acts 3:15
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.
14 You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.
15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

They did not have legal authority in matters of capital crimes

This falls under a category called "cop-out". I wonder if the author is familiar with the expression or did the author think only he was familiar with it.

I am here to declare that a crime has been committed. Jesus is the victim of identity theft. Every cause and each group has adopted Jesus as their own. They have created Jesus in their own image. It is one of the greatest crimes of history. Even the new improved mellow Saint Mel of the Passion recreated Jesus to suit his view.

The author is free to make a movie about Jesus that represent his views.

Act 2:6 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

Act 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

Act 2:7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

Act 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Act 2:9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

Act 2:10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

Act 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

Act 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Act 2:37 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?

The Jews killed (forced Pilate into killing) Jesus. To argue otherwise is a waste of time.

The gentiles spread this BS to try to assuage their guilt at the Roman empires flunky ordering the Crucifixion.

Sort of like the people that voted in Judge Greer et al, now blaming the Bush Brothers.

1. the dinner rolls always bothered me. Its not just in the movie , but also many paintings. Someone wrote me that it was not a seder but the day before. however that seems to contradict tradition

2. Blonde blue eyed Jesus- he could have been a redhead like david

3. Jews killing Jesus- If he was supposed to die for our sin then are not the people involved only agents of G-D?

4. The Temple priests are guilty. When the Jewish revolt began, the first to go were the Roman selected priests. they were nothing more than Quislings/Kapos of the Roman authorities. That being the case, they served their overlords by bringing Jesus to Pilate. How does that translate to the Jewish nation? Did the action of collaborators in Nazi or Soviet controlled Europe tarnish the entire nation?
