Injury Report Prompted Schiavo Cremation Plans

Michael Schiavo decided to have his wife's body cremated after her parents' lawyers obtained medical records showing she had sustained broken bones, a nurse who cared for Terri Schiavo is now claiming.

"He wanted her cremated after the bone fractures and dislocations were found," nurse Carla Sauer Iyer, who cared for Terri in the mid-1990s while she was at the Palm Gardens Convalescent Center, told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity on Friday.

"He immediately went to court and [said he] wanted her body cremated at that time," she said, "after we got hold of the records that proved there were dislocations and fractures."

A 1991 report on a bone scan performed on Terri Schiavo states:

"There are an extensive number of focal abnormal areas ... These include: multiple bilateral ribs ... both sacroiliac joints ... both knees and both ankles."

Radiographs reveal "compression fractures" of the spine and right femur. ... "Compression fracture presumably traumatic," the report says.

Nurse Iyer said she recently contacted Palm Gardens to encourage co-workers who also cared for Terri to speak out - but said they have been muzzled.

"The administrator had gotten them together and they talked about what happened with Michael," Iyer told Hannity. "The people who have worked with Terri who are still there, they cannot talk to reporters - they would be terminated."

I got really sick in my heart last night when I saw MS brother being interviewed and Geraldo asked him if he would be attending Terri's funeral, should she die. He answered, "Of course. I love Terri. Terri and I were very close." I thought, Oh my God. Go crawl back in the dark hole you came from you son of a b#*^%h. I could have fallen for it if he had said he would be there to support his brother. What a horrible joke.

My heart is in shear misery for the Schindlers. I personally think that they have had to stifle so much while Terri is alive just so Michael can't deny visitation. I hope they have some kind of civil suit already written and ready to be served as soon as she dies. Let's hope there is a court order to stop the cremation.

Iyer is not to be believed. In addition to her firing there is plenty of testimony in this case that makes her word more than suspect.

Five screen names at least. ;-)

There will be a substantial re-handling here at FR in the near future. That is, same players, new names.

What I don't understand is why Terri was accepted as a patient in a "hospice" in the first place. I thought one had to be terminally ill and near the end of one's life to gain admission to a hospice. I thought a hospice was the place to go when one had exhausted all treatment options, the place to go when one only needed end of life palliative care, and the place to go when one expected to die in the very near future. I'm very surprised that she met the criteria for hospice admission.

The whole election fiasco.
The courts down there went berserk then, too.
They no doubt have a grudge.

So? Why not err on the side of life and have all sides duly sworn in a hearing with NEW info and medical tests?

Her very firing makes it believable. Her filing a police report makes it irrefutable.

She was accepted to siphon the money to Felos and Greer and their families.

I cannot violate a court order," (Jeb) Bush told CNN following Easter church services. "I don't have powers from the United States Constitution or – for that matter from the Florida Constitution – that would allow me to intervene after a decision has been made."

To Terri's parents, Bush said, "I can't. I'd love to, but I can't."

Speaking to the media for the first time in three days, the governor added, "I'm sad that she's in the situation that she's in. I feel bad for her family. My heart goes out to the Schindlers and, for that matter, to [her husband] Michael," Bush said. "This has not been an easy thing for any, any member of the family. But most particularly for Terri Schiavo."

I am repulsed by this statement. Imagine your heart going out to Michael Schiavo, after hearing about how he has treated Terri, up to and including the denial of religious rites. Why was it ncessary for the Governor to give MS a verbal hug? Somehow I think the Governor plans to pass on pursuing justice for Terri by insisting on an investigation of her loving spousal unit Michael.

Re: Terri, a non-terminally ill patient being admitted to hospice

Remember that George Felos had signed on as Mike Schiavo's attorney and George Felos headed the Board of the Hospice that Terri was admitted to after the deal was signed. And in preparation for Michael's plan to ease Terri into death, George Felos had gotten a judge's signed approval to take over Terri's medical treatment without consulting or even officially notifying her parents.

As I have said that husband would not be around if it were my daughters. Either I would take care of it or someone else would but we would not rely on any courts for our children's lives.
And almost everyone I have spoken to in person feels the same way. Even the ones who did not know much about this case. You don't mess with our kids. The Shindlers really believed they would obtain justice in the courts or I am sure this would not have dragged out and come to this end.

I saw that too. He's not a bad liar, neither of them are! But the more he talked ( I saw him on another couple of shows) the more he exposed himself to a discerning viewer.

My heart is in shear misery for the Schindlers. I personally think that they have had to stifle so much while Terri is alive just so Michael can't deny visitation. I hope they have some kind of civil suit already written and ready to be served as soon as she dies.

They need better legal representation!

Let's hope there is a court order to stop the cremation.

We would hope so, but what court? This coverup of the broken bones and continual mistreatment (and murder) of Terri is as effective as the one after the Arkansas Blood Scandal.

Women with eating disorders can lose 30% of their bone mass in a year. (Her medical chart also shows her to be undernourished and low in calcium.)

And the only broken bones she had, according to the full deposition of the radiologist was:

- a compression/hairline fracture in lumbar 1, which he said could have happened when she fell (a lot of us are walking around with those - my sister is in her 30s and has numerous ones just from daily living)

- some of her ribs and the parts of the thoracic vertebra they were connected to in the back, which is extremely common after CPR, even in people with strong bones.

That's it.

There would also have been outward signs like bruising had she been attacked, and it would no way explain such "severely" low potassium.

Even Dr. Baden, in the last few weeks, has said everything was consistent with bulimia. His earlier comments were based only on the bone scan... and he misread it at that, thinking it showed a head injury. It doesn't. (see link to greer and unedited bone scan deposition below)
Her knee x-ray showed nothing.

http://www.terrisfight.org/documents/Humana%20Discharge%20Summary%20050990.pdf

The Schindler attorney admitted the bone scan had been available to them and did not even try to say it was kept secret.

That is a version of what I told my own grown daughter last night. If the "authorities" were killing my daughter, they'd have to kill me, too.

I've already buried one of my children, my young son, and those who support this murder deserve to kneel in anguish at the grave of their own dear child to be taught a lesson in real pain that will haunt them every day of the rest of their lives.

All the "players" are connected down there. It was "an inside job" to put her there. It was to be the beginning of the end for her. I'm not trying to be nasty to you, but if you read up on this you will see that all the characters down there in Florida are working for the big money death market. She's a VICTIM.

To answer your question, she did not belong there. But the husband (HINO -- husband in name only), Greer, Felos and others are all connected in getting rid of her.

Of course they will take advantage no matter one he did or they do.

The only way for a smooth out for both Bushes would have been to get her out of there and get her the therapy that she needed.

I believe the sworn affidavits of Barbra Weller and others that Terri tried to say "AH WHAA" She with the proper therapy and the will live she has could have told the world that.

Now there will be a backlash because they did not do enough. And others will say they overstepped.

They blew it by not following through with this. When a judge does not allow a state agency to investigate and do what it is legally required to do he is breaking the law. Even though he has diplomatic immunity he still is breaking the law and they should have followed through.

After they got her out they should have done a full scale investigation of this case and Greer. This would have saved them and Terri also.
