Ahhh, yes. The sewer that was once a great city attracts yet another blow-fly. Rot together; you both deserve each other.

Rot together; you both deserve each other. Thanks a lot. I was born here. My mother still lives here.

Ms. Wattleton, a former president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, is the president of the Center for the Advancement of Women, based in Manhattan. Ms. Duke, the former president of the National Abortion Rights Action League, now Naral Pro-Choice America, was a major fund-raiser for the Kerry-Edwards campaign. Yikes. My sympathies.

How much worse can that festering city get?

"there are signs that Ms. Fields can hardly take female voters for granted." The revese is that any given male candidate can hardly take male voters for granted.

She is the only black candidate and the only woman candidate. On paper, she will win the primary. However, Ferrer's appeal crosses to all minorities and he is moderating his stances.
I think that Weiner and Miller are aiming at the same constituencies.

C. Virginia Fields won't win because she has little name recognition in Manhattan (where she is Borough President) let alone in the outer boroughs. And she hasn't been doing much to bolster her image. This has little to do with her being a woman.

You're welcome...and I stand by my comments. NYC is a sewer...that was once a great city.

This entire article is in support of the idea of electing candidates based solely on their status as women or ethnic minorities.
That makes the theme of this story inherently racist and sexist.
No, I'm not surprised. And yes, I know that everybody else here already knows it, but I just felt the need to point it out anyway.

On paper, she will win the primary. On paper, she is toast, in reality, she'll be in the basement.
Most of her own constituents don't even know who she is, and no one is giving her any press, or even taking her seriously.
The democratic party here in looking at her as a bad joke.

You're welcome...and I stand by my comments. NYC is a sewer...that was once a great city. You've got some really warped definition of whats a great city and whats a sewer.
If NYC is a sewer, that doesn't say much about the country then.

Your posts about NY are ill informed, ignorant, and downright false and stupid.
Trashing NY is OUT, Loving NY is IN.
NY is an extraordinary place to live, and a fabulous place to visit, as the millions of people who visit here each year and keep our hotels, restaurants, music and theater fully booked all year long can attest.
Ask the tens of thousands of people who come to NY from all over the US to live and work.
The quality of life in NY is higher than in any other city in the US with the lowest crime rate, and opportunity.
NYC politics is always interesting, especially the Democrat primaries.
Fernando "formerly known as Freddie" Ferrer is not supported by the Black community. Ms. Fields does not have name recognition. After our experience with David Dinkins, it ain't gonna happen.
I will happily vote for Mayor Bloomberg who has been an excellent Mayor, in the great tradition of Rudy Guiliani.
