23 gunmen killed, arrested in blast and search operations south of Baghdad

BAGHDAD, March 27 (KUNA) -- Seven gunmen were killed and 16 others were arrested Sunday in wide-scale blast and search operations executed by Iraqi and US forces south of here.

Security spokesperson told reporters that the blast and search operations were carried out in Haswa, Iskandaria, Msayyab and other areas in northern Babylon Province with the support of US helicopters.

Meanwhile, Iraqi Army forces backed by Multinational troops arrested 53 terror suspects, including non-Iraqi Arabs in two different spots of Mosul.

I am not sure but probably methods blasting doors (by weapons) and raid buildings under surprise.

If this article is true (what the heck is a "blast and search" operation?), then it's good news (except that more of the terrorists should have died). (I know, I'm hard to please)

I have heard that the government shows the interrogation of captured terroist on national TV in Iraq.There seems to be some Intel fallout from this practice.

If these numbers are correct, the US and Iraqi forces are really taking the anti-Iraqi forces apart. Continued progress like this is going to start to show in big ways.
