Rabbi Yehuda Levin has issued the following statement on behalf of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada:
"We urge President George Bush and Florida Governor Jeb Bush to take immediate, decisive action to save the life of Terri Schindler-Schiavo. We appreciate the pro-life statements of President Bush and Governor Bush. Yet, their efforts have thus far not been successful. We therefore urge the President and Governor Bush to take immediate and decisive action - either jointly or separately - to save the life of Terri Schindler-Schiavo before it is too late.
"When evil becomes 'legally' sanctioned by government, it rises to a higher order of evil - that of Sodom. Legality does not dictate morality. The Almighty dictates morality.
"America is being tested. Will we pass or will we fail?
"Perhaps some feel that everything that could be done has been done. But our holy Torah, the Word of G-d, says otherwise: 'Am I my brother's keeper?' We all know the answer."
I'm still waiting for the day when one of these leftists can show me the portion of the Constitution that gives the judiciary the power to enact laws.
Even the Orthodox rabbis have weighed in favor of life! Perhaps, like Pope JPII, they see the writing on the wall. It's fairly clear in which direction this nation is headed.

So then what's your plan? The republicans so far have been so effective in dealing with our tyrannical judiciary. Gee, I wonder when they will get the backbone to prosecute Sandy Burlar.
God bless them.
And Congress won't even enforce its own subpoenas - what a joke.
Heck, we don't need leftists, we have republicans carrying the water for them on this thread. What a bunch of girly men.
Don't fear Walkin Man! You can always bite down on a cyanide capsule when you see those Bible-thumping do-gooders coming towards you.
According to law and the sanctity of marriage, the husband has the final say for his spouse. Or the wife as the case may be.
I remember when conservatives believed in the sanctity of marriage before the mass hysteria in Florida broke out.
ALL OF US ARE! We have an obligation to elect an offical that will protect our country, it's people and our freedoms ,including the innocent.
He failed, we failed.
It will be interesting to see how some of these people feel a decade or so down the road (especially when many of the baby boomers begin to experience the normal illnesses of aging), and they are informed that their life or the life of someone they love is no longer "viable" and that armed officers will prohibit the administration of food, water or medical care (and affordibility will no longer matter).
The president's poll numbers are in the toilet because of you people. Now you repay him and Jeb with the most scurrilous sickening slanders.
You people will soon be pariahs in the republican party. Maybe the demoRats will aid and comfort you...LOL!
Best point I've seen yet.
Ignorant? How about ignorance of what our founding fathers believed, you know, the ones who formed and shaped the very laws you so stridently say must be adhered to. They believed it was the MORAL duty of a just people, to rebel against laws that were immoral and unjust.
Don't you think that his marriage to, living with, and fathering two children by another woman qualifies as estrangement? BTW, I'm not blaming him for this. I understand how he might want to move on with his life. But if he does, shouldn't he relinquish his guardianship?
Yes!!! Da's friend Rabbi Yehuda jumps in. Many of us know him from the March for Life. A great man!
DO NOT INCLUDE ME IN THAT GROUP! I HAVE BEEN ON THE RECORD AGAIN AND AGAIN THAT WE SHOULD BE ATTACKING THE REAL ENEMY, AND IT IS NOT GOOD, DECENT, GOD-FEARING MEN LIKE W AND ESPECIALLY JEB, WHO HAS PUT FORTH A TREMENDOUS EFFORT.
Thanks to you! I'm glad to hear it.
They could both send troops and marshalls in to save Terri, because she is being murdered. Dennis Hastert can send police in to enforce the congressional subpoena, which requires Terri to appear Monday, March 28. Don't fall for the feeble, pathetic lie that the President and the Governor are powerless. They are not powerless. They are just gutless.
Orthodox rabbis know what eugenics entails. This has nothing to do with disabled people.
