The denial of communion to his starving wife in extremis should finally put to rest any lingering illusions that Michael Schiavo is acting out of "love" for Terri or following "her wishes".

May this final obvious exhibition of his extreme obsessive petty controlling cruelty toward women in general and Terri in particular at least cost him a couple of bucks in his upcoming efforts to strike a book or movie deal featuring him as a grieving widower....??

nah, there's always ABC....

It should. Anybody with any religious glimmerings even though not Catholic themselves that has heard this bit today is probably coming to certain conclusions.

As a non-Catholic Christian who's heart goes out to Terri, please explain to me the religious meaning of denying these last communion rites to her so I will have a deeper understanding of their religious significance to this grieving family, and also grasp further the implications this has for where Michael is. It seems petty and terribly mean to me.

Thank you.

They are lucky that Terri's parents are good hearted and forgiving people. If they were starving my daughter to death against my interest there would be hell to pay.I would give my own life to save my daughter or at least die trying. It must be horrible for her parents to sit there and watch their daughter be starved to death as every appeal they file to save her gets rejected again and again by judges who think they're God.

I wonder of those in power who could have saved Terri feel now.
