I believe Barbara has every right to be proud of how her sons acted during this case. They did everything but throw themselves on the hand grenade.

Those calling the Bush brothers cowardly for not taking more drastic actions, have no credibility, unless they are posting their rants on a lap top from the cell they were thrown into for taking their own vain but drastic actions.

That photo is presently gracing the main homepage of Comcast, so whenever anybody logs onto the internet through Comcast, that's what they see. A lot of people are seeing that picture.

Have the NOWs disbanded? Why don't the liberation females take up for one of their own loud and clear. The courts are claiming full rights of a philandering husband to make life and death decisions for his wife. Have the feminists spoken out for this woman, Terri's rights, and I missed it?

Yes, Barbara Bush is proud that her sons haven't tried to be dictators.

Remember the movie "Contact" with Jodie Foster? Specifically the scene where the faithful are waiting for the aliens?

It's not the Bushes' fault, but IMO they could have and should have done more given the circumstances.

I hate to say it, but it looks like Janet Reno has more balls than Jeb does.

You have to keep things in perspective.
Take a look at the other side. It's "normal"
they are just like you and me.

The Pro-Death by Starvation Crowd assured us all, including the Bush Bros., that starvation is so ethical, so painless, so euphoric, so calming that starvation allows humans to die in peace and dignity.

The blasted Michael Schiavo attorney, George Felos, said he had never seen Terri look so radiant, peaceful in all the years he has seen her.

The judges and their doctors all agree that Terri is living in a perpetual state of vegetableness and doesn't feel anything. Nothing, no pain.

What hypocrites they are. They are lying. I heard today on the FNS that they are giving Terri morphine to dull her pain. What!!! Her pain, a PVS patient ordered to die by starvation is feeling pain?

What happened to all their pretty words about Terri not able to feel pain?

Well, Govenor Bush based on their lies this is a massive enough of a lie to overturn their decision to kill her in a most barbaric, heinous, horrific manner ever imaginable in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave...yeah, right. Where are the brave...our sons and daughters, courageously risking their lives and dying to liberate Iraqi's and Afghani's...but there are none for one mere defenseless disabled woman.

Makes me sick. I took down my beautiful American Flag this morning after I heard that they were giving Terri morphine to dull supposedly her brain dead pain. Liars, bullsh!++ers all. It's their brains that are dead as their craven hearts. Screw their laws, and screw them all

The woman is precisely right. Neither the President nor the Governor is compelled under the Constitution to abide by the judges' rulings. The executive is co-equal, and in this case it is unmistakably its Constitutional role to protect the right to life of one Mrs. Terri Schiavo from the unconstitutional death sentence handed down by a corrupt judiciary.

I'm disturbed that the level of Constitutional education on this board has become so weak that this is not the common opinion.

Da' Pres and Da' Gov have done pretty much all they can do legally. To do any more they would have to be a King or a Dictator. Is that what we want? P.S. I am for Teri and believe she has been treated shamefully. However, a nation of laws must sometimes take its lumps until the judges are re-educated. That is our responsibility in this.

This is exactly why I've long predicted that Giuliani will win the 2008 GOP primary, and then the presidency.

Too many self-appointed 'voices' of social conservatives that without fail sooner or later play the professional victim card, backstab those who went out of their way to help them, are never satisfied (even when they get 101% of their way), are always threatening to sit home, and scream the same rants incessantly, regardless of facts or situations. Get a reputation of being too unreliable and scaring off too many moderates(who like it or not are the deciding swing voters, and who Reagan won) and the party will have to downgrade them from crucial allies to possible pickups, and shift more to the center to align with the sizable econ conserv/social lib.

Unfortunate, and definitely a blow to conservatism, but far less so than a Hillary presidency.

Two questions on this obvious set up.

That woman with the sign was there all day, why did the photog wait till some flake stepped into the picture before snapping, thereby making all the participants look weird? And why was this photo, among all the others of the 'sign woman' chosen for this FR post?

The Bush brothers did indeed have an opportutnity presented to them on a silver platter to challenge an openly corrupt and brazen Court system. They did their token Pontius Pilate attempt to help Terri Schiavo, and then let this incredible opportunity to do the right thing slip away by giving in to evil and washing their hands of it.

Meanwhile, the corrupt Courts view this as a huge victory, and a modern day precedent that puts the Courts, (even the minor ones), in power over the Legislative and Executive branches. This whole case represents a major setback for conservatives, because it clearly tells us that having a majority of Republicans in the Legislature and a Republican President isn't enough to stop the liberals, socialists, communists and atheists from advancing their agenda.

But I give credit to these low life liberals, they at least have courage as they challenge and defeat legitimate authority, while our elected representatives don't have the guts to challenge ILLEGAL authority and corruption.

George W. and Jeb have done a good job.

I support them even today.

I am sure SHE is as I would be if they were my sons. Those of us who would like to live under a benevolent DICTATOR can always move to another nation and take our chances there.

Real Christians pray quietly, to their God and to that little quiet part inside them that listens when God speaks back.

This "lady" prays for the TV cameras, and her poster-carrying friend has little knowledge of the Constitution as written by the Founding Fathers.

Sheesh! If this is the quality of the demonstrators, I can see why nobody is photographing them on a regular basis. Between the sign and the woman in white contorting herself, it looks like a whacko convention.
