The most interesting one:
"6) Maintain guardianship at all costs: Keep family members uninformed; if family members try to become guardian, accuse them of stealing; use the ward's assets for legal fights to retain guardianship."
Is this just in Florida, or is it pertinent to other states, do you know?
I don't know the answer to that.
But I think it would behoove us all to know if the state we want to retire to is involved in this.
Florida isn't called "God's waiting room" for no reason, so it's probably in the front lines for all sorts of insurance fraud, medicare fraud, scams of the elderly, you name it.
Needless to say, Florida is no longer on my list of places to retire to.
