ASSUMING:1. she was bulimic and was 70% responsible
2. her doctors should have known and were 30% responsible

If those facts are correct, why doesn't MS share any responsibility? there are no medical tests for bulimia , but if he is living with her he should be in a better position to know than her doctors.
also aren't many women bulimic because of abusive husbands....

Yes, sometimes. And sometimes when this occurs is because the person (more women than men) has self esteem problems that could be the result of being called fat. There are many reasons not just one specific one.
