Yes, I've read that too. And that is just one of many "strange facts" in this case.
However, I think Ms McBryde Johnson's points are valid whether Ms Schiavo has to be fed by a tube or not.

I find it interesting that ven after everything she wrote she still doesn't make her wishes fully known. The best she can come up with is, "...I hope whoever is appointed to speak for me will be subject to legal constraints. Even if my guardian thinks I'd be better off dead - even if I think so myself - I hope to live and die in a world that recognises that killing, even of people with the most severe disabilities, is a matter of more than private concern. And yet, Terri Schiavo's fate hangs on something she supposedly said in passing while watching a TV show with her husband.
