You know, I imagine that before this nightmare actually started, that Terri's folks probably believed like a lot of the current FReeper think - that something like this would never happen in America because, well, we're America and you just don't starve people to death.
I consider what's being done to Terri as a Westernized Honor Killing.
And there, unfortunately will be a lot more of them, since the US courts have said it's okay.
It's terrible. And people who would have a cow over a woman in another country getting starved don't even care.
American's are very touchy-feely about violence being done in the open - they don't want to see it. It appears if it is done it private, though, it's a lot more acceptable.
Those like us, who believe it is evil, in public or out, are called emotional and nutty.
